Getting festive with Bliss Balls

by | Dec 14, 2015 | Energy Optimisation

Here at CLARETY we love a bliss ball as a tasty, healthy and energising snack to get us through those 11am and 3pm slump times.

Not ready to shake off the holiday spirit? Then have a crack at these Christmas inspired beauties.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup walnuts
  • ½ cup almonds
  • 1 cup medjool dates
  • 1/4 cup currents
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence or vanilla pod
  • ½ tsp ground ginger or finely grated nob of fresh ginger
  • ½ tsp all spice
  • ¼ cup tahini
  • Pinch Himalayan rock salt
  • ¼ cup cacao powder
  • 1 orange

To decorate:

  • 1 tbsp desiccated or shredded coconut
  • 24 goji or dried cranberries

24 pumpkin seeds

Method

Place the walnuts & almonds into the food processor and blend until finely chopped.

Add the dates, currents, cinnamon, vanilla, ginger, all spice, salt, tahini and cacao powder.

Grate the zest of the orange into the food processor and squeeze in the juice of half an orange.

Blend everything together until the mixture has formed into a ball.
Remove the mixture and break into 12 equal pieces.
Roll each piece into a round ball and place onto a plate.
Decorate with 2 goji (or cranberries) and 2 pumpkin seeds on top of each like holly leaves!

Store in the fridge, will keep in an airtight container for 1 week.
